Sisal rugs
and jute rugs are perfect for the latest designer look - -
But how do you choose the right one for your room ?
Sisal rugs and
jute rugs make fantastic modern rugs and are the choice of many
interior designers. Natural fiber rugs such as sisal rugs and
jute rugs are an excellent choice for most rooms of your home.
However, they are not suitable for outdoors use, or in rooms
that have a high moisture content such as a bathroom or kitchen.
Sisal rugs are more resilient than jute rugs and are therefore
the best choice for a room that gets heavy traffic. On the
other hand, jute with its soft texture makes it the perfect
choice for a low traffic area, such as a bedroom.
Both sisal rugs and jute rugs are made from natural fibers,
The sisal fibers originate from the 'agave sisalana' cactus
plant, which is widely grown in Africa and Brazil. The jute
fibers come from the jute plant and this is sourced mostly
from Bangladesh, India, and China.
All natural fiber rugs such as sisal rugs and jute rugs absorb
water very easily. It is therefore very important that any
spills are wiped up immediately with a clean cloth, and then
left to dry in a suitable place.
